Accelerator for
Circular Economy Systems

Catalyzing transformative change towards a circular economy that delivers impact and returns. We drive this by enabling ecosystems that formalize waste management and elevate the environment, livelihoods, health, and human dignity. We promote resource efficiency and circular economy by enabling urban mining of secondary raw materials.

Join the ACES community!

As an ecosystem builder we call on local NGOs, businesses, and value chain stakeholders to enroll for the ACES program that builds awareness and capacity to design and implement waste ecosystems that balance impact and returns.

We offer partnership for viable projects, technical backstopping, collaborations and investments across the value chain.

Follow-the-waste-trail!

Join our "follow-the-waste-trail" exercises across selected urban clusters. These visits include interactions with informal collectors, aggregators, dismantlers, and formal recyclers to trace actual waste flows from households and businesses to final processing sites. Insights are further enriched through consultations with municipal officials, regulatory bodies, and digital governance experts.

This multi-layered field engagement helps validate assumptions, surface undocumented practices, and inform the design of user-centric workflows and compliance mechanisms for implementing circular economy initiatives.

Our Approach

Circular Economy

ACES is an accelerator focused on transforming the recycling of e-waste, batteries, plastics, tyres, and end-of-life vehicles through inclusive and integrated solutions. We bridge the gap between policy, material flows, skills, finance, technology, and grassroots action.

We nurture micro-entrepreneurs in the recycling ecosystem, supporting their transition into structured, sustainable businesses that drive decent livelihoods and circularity at scale.

Our Flagship Programs

Business enablement through clusters

Localised ecosystems where economic, environmental, and social benefits converge.

  • Decentralised waste-to-value clusters that operate within clearly defined geographic boundaries.
  • The clusters use a hub-and-spoke model to connect collectors, dismantlers, and recyclers, streamlining material flows and optimizing value retention.
  • Facilitating investments in essential infrastructure and enabling material traceability across the value chain, we ensure that all stakeholders—from informal workers to formal businesses—see financial returns.

Embedded Services

To strengthen the foundation of circular microenterprises, we integrate essential business services across the value chain.

  • Targeted training programs to build entrepreneurial skills and enhance the technical capacities of stakeholders engaged in collection, processing, and recycling.
  • Enabling small enterprises to achieve regulatory compliance by participating in and monetizing Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) credit systems, turning obligations into revenue-generating opportunities.

Outcome-based & Alternative Financing

We design financing structures that reward verified social and environmental outcomes.

  • We support results-based mechanisms such as social impact bonds and performance-linked grants to incentivize measurable social and environmental outcomes.
  • We facilitate access to working capital, blended finance instruments, and catalytic funding partnerships to accelerate the growth and formalization of microenterprises in the circular economy.

ACES-DPCI: Digital Public Circularity Infrastructure stack

ACES-DPCI leverages proven national digital systems to enable smart, accessible circularity models suited to the connectivity realities of the Global South.

By building on shared infrastructure and data interoperability, we integrate informal and fragmented supply chain actors into formal value chains. Mobile technology maps, digitizes, and connects decentralized material flows, ensuring traceability, efficiency, and inclusion. The platform links government, industry, and communities to co-create scalable circular economy solutions.
